The Rabies – Adderall Girl

In the early 1980’s, The Rabies released a pair of punky powerpop singles, which have since become highly sought-after collectors items. Thankfully, both have been digitally re-released on Bandcamp.

Along with those two classic releases, the NYC band reunited to bring the world two new power pop anthems, “Adderall Girl” and “You’re The Glue.”

“Adderall Girl” is a tongue-in-cheek tribute to a young lady hooked to the ADHD medication that throbs and flows with a slightly psychedelic sheen, like an early Elvis Costello tune or something from the Children of Nuggets box set.

The flip side, “You’re The Glue,” is a harder rocking gem that conjures the likes of The Ramones, The Chesterfield Kings and The Prefab Messiahs. While the song has an extremely short run time, the band makes up for it with a pummeling beat, growling riffs and a chorus that is so catchy, you can’t help but sing along.

With their fierce, youthful energy and masterful songwriting skills, hopefully the world will be hearing more from The Rabies again soon.

Be sure to pick up this new pop-punk classic today right here.
