For a jazz album that feels like a ride through a rainy metropolis at midnight, then seek no further than the latest collaboration between Ilhan Ersahin, Dave Harrington, Kenny Wollesen.

Available through NuBlu Records, this new EP finds the NYC jazz trio navigating through ethereal ambient soundscapes, space rock-fusion and funky mutated post-bop excursions.

Across the release’s three tracks, Erasin plays the saxophone, a Wurlitzer and synth while Wollesen (Tom Waits, John Zorn, Norah Jones) mans the drums and vibraphone and Harrington handles guitar and bass duties and other electronics. The three musicians are so tightly locked into the same groove and support each other so harmoniously, they operate like a single musical organism. Together, they easily glide into humid summer evening atmospheres that are rich with emotional subtlety and the very essence of late night cool.
