AS 05 : The Myrrors – Live at Exploded View

Recorded on occupied Tohono O’odham land in 2015, this album captures the legendary cosmic rockers improvising as if they were all held in the same haunting trance. With smoky drones and a gradual build up of pulverising drums and roaring distorted guitars, this 30-minute epic will leave you feeling primal and completely dazed. There is a wilderness to be explored between the grooves of this shamanic record. Take heed.

AS 06 : Eve Maret – Earth and Space

Nashville-based composer Eve Maret is a force to be reckoned with. A jack-of-all-trades artist armed with a cornucopia of disparate instruments and influences, she can whip up generally any style or genre she wants when she wants. Here, she creates dreamy ambient soundscapes with analog synths, clarinets and ethereal vocalizations, amongst other things. The LP is full of mini-sound baths that flow over the listener and floats them away to deeply peaceful and beautiful places. A tranquil and welcomed release for these troubled times.

AS 07 : OCH | Live at Riksgränsen

OCH hails from Linköping, Sweden, and they’ve unquestionably mastered the style of early kosmische musik. This live performance from 2015 captures the band locking into thundering motorik beats, hypnotic organ grooves and minimalist cosmic jams. Shades of Can and Amon Düül (I, not II, mind you) can be felt in their organic yet mechanical-like percussion, industrial drones and waves of astral keyboards. Anyone with an interest in kosmische bands NEEDS this record.
