With tight, but adventurous jams, New Jersey’s Camino Sound proves themselves as a powerful force, and a total delight on their new LP, Corridors.

Across this beautifully composed instrumental album, the band plays enticingly catchy melodies that are packed with sunshine and zeal, and then twists them into great cosmic explorations. With break-neck speed drumming, endlessly echoing celestial guitars and a thick, nebulous atmosphere, the band propels you deep into the record’s realm and keeps you there.

On tracks like the metamorphic “Starlings,” Camino Sound glides between the vibes of a spaced-out early Sonic Youth to the full-out psychedelic jams of bands like Garcia Peoples or Wooden Shjips. The more you listen to these tracks, the more you start to notice elements of everything from post-rock to surf guitar, 90’s indie rock and even kosmische musik bubbling under the surface. There’s so much going on in these songs, just about every listener can find something to hook into and enjoy.
