Yea Big (Stefen Robinson), Drazek Fuscaldo, and Tatsu Aoki act as sonic alchemist, stirring up sprawling pools of jangling, warbling avant-garde jazz that are both meditative and transportive. These jams are calm and hypnotic enough to lull you into a peaceful trance like state. Yet, there’s also so much going on within each moment of each track, you can easily get immersed and deeply lost within this deep auditory world. With reverb-drenched electric mandolins, wonky double bass and effects-ridden horns (plus the occasional vocal), this is devotional music for the experimental ambient and Sun Ra collecting crowds.
