A Psych Ambient Daydream – A festival of expressionistic instrumental & experimental sounds from the Tri-State area – Saturday, December 6, 2PM, Paterson, NJ
Record Crates United and Prototype 237 proudly present A Psych Ambient Daydream, an immersive celebration of music, art, and community set in one of New Jersey’s most creatively charged historic cities.
Starting Saturday at 2:00 PM, the doors of Prototype 237 open for an all-day sonic journey featuring some of the Tri-State area’s most adventurous musicians. Co-curated by Mike Horn of Seawind of Battery and Lyle Hysen of The Royal Arctic Institute, this is a festival by artists for artists. Listeners are invited to drift through waves of psychedelic textures, ambient explorations, and forward-thinking improvisation.

Beyond the stage, local food vendors, independent merchants and interactive stations, like a “take something, leave something” table will add flavor and color to the day, creating a marketplace of sound, taste, and discovery. (Scroll down to find out how you can be a vendor at the festival!)

Located near the dramatic Great Falls of the Passaic River, Prototype 237 is a truly one of a kind communal performance and art space. Housed in a beautifully converted historic warehouse that contains a professionally lit and sound-designed stage, a 5,000 sq. ft. black box theater and a 5,000 sq. ft white-walled event and gallery space, the good folks at Prototype have hosted over 350 performances, readings, and workshops over the last five years, making it a bastion of underground art and bold DIY New Jersey ingenuity. Their dedication to community, local art and an elevated musical experience is something that RCU shares in spirit, making Prototype’s space the perfect setting for this festival.

Join us for a full day of music, community, and creative energy. A Psych Ambient Daydream is more than a concert, it’s an invitation to experience the Tri-State region’s vibrant arts scene, and discover new sounds in a setting with a rich cultural heartbeat.
