Fans of ’90s alternative rock bands like Sebadoh, Pavement and even Weezer should check out the new single by The Young Love Scene.

Hailing from Burlington, VT, TYLS plays a grungy power pop that would have felt right at home on college radio stations in 1994. Slick guitar licks and a driving beat propel this song straight into the ear candy zone, yet it’s the reserved harmonic vocals that really make this track memorable. There’s something about the voice of vocalist Jesse Taylor that is evocative of the vastly under appreciated shoegaze group, Drop Nineteens, and even a little bit of Stephen Malkmus. This is a fun tune.
