There’s a kind of joy you can only get from a One Eleven Heavy album. Their bouncy boogie rhythms, squirmy guitar noodling and cheeky lyrics never fail to put a smile on my face. All of these qualities and then some are present on their latest single, “Tyrant King,” from Poolside, their upcoming LP on Kith & Kin Records.
Nick Mitchell Maiato and James Toth have never sounded so loose and so on fire at the same time (especially when the band launches into a rollicking jam towards the later half of the track). The world may look grim right now, but at least we can turn to little doses of pure fun like this one to keep us smiling on these cloudy days.
You can preorder this album ahead of its November 4th release right now (and I strongly suggest that you do).
