Perpetual Doom just announced the upcoming release of a new solo EP by BenBen, a veritable jack-of-all-trades pop mastermind.
BenBen, A.K.A. Ben Wigler, is a singer, producer, animator, filmmaker and museum exhibition designer with credits on releases by Samantha Crain, Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls, and Dungen’s Gustav Ejstes. His upcoming EP, Be A Mermaid, finds the multifaceted artist channeling his inner Ariel, as evidenced by the release’s first single, “Ghost Drops.”
“Ghost Drops” is a glossy art pop track filled with slick harmonies, tight beats and a slightly off-kilter atmosphere. The song’s dreamlike vibe, combined with its neon candy-colored vocals make it a perfect choice for a hyper-surreal animated music video that looks straight out of Adult Swim.
