Luke Schneider, one of the leading names in modern pedal steel guitar, will be releasing his second solo LP, It is Solved by Walking, July 21. The record will be out digitally with a spatial audio Dolby Atmos mix on Third Man Records and on CD, cassette and vinyl through Centripetal Force.

The Nashville-based artist made a name for himself as an in-demand collaborator and hired gun for the likes of Margo Price, William Tyler, Orville Peck and the Nashville Ambient Ensemble. He’s also known for his previous solo ambient work and as the curator behind Tompkin’s Square’s game-changing progressive pedal steel compilation, Imaginational Anthem vol. XI : Chrome Universal.

On this new LP, Schneider leaned deeper into his meditation practices and spiritual path for inspiration. After utilizing his music for his own peace of mind long enough, the sweeping soundscapes on It is Solved by Walking are aimed at providing healing, comfort and an escape for other listeners that need solace from their own situations.

You certainly get this meditative and healing vibe right away from the album’s glistening first single, “Gloria.” Check it out:
