Minneapolis-based singer-songwriter, Greta Ruth, channels the humanity and spirituality of unconditional love through the ethereal folk of her upcoming album, Isle of Ferns.
Due to be released October 10th, this record finds Ruth meditating on the marvel and beauty of pregnancy, motherhood and the bond of marriage. These hopeful and compassionate themes are reflected in the dreamy, deeply pleasant sound that Ruth seems to be floating through on every song.
On the album’s first single, “The Back Room,” delicate acoustic fingerpicking, angelic keyboards and Ruth’s frosted, whispery harmonic vocals set the intimate and divine tone for the whole album. Speaking about the track, Ruth said “”The Back Room” speaks to the sacrificial nature of unconditional love, the vulnerability our deepest connections create in us, and the fact that love is ultimately something we choose to do — not just say.” Check it out:
