Starting Saturday at 2:00 PM (doors at 1:30), the doors of Prototype 237 open for an all-day sonic journey featuring some of the Tri-State area’s most adventurous musicians. Co-curated by Mike Horn of Seawind of Battery and Lyle Hysen of The Royal Arctic Institute, this is a festival by artists for artists. Listeners are invited to drift through waves of psychedelic textures, ambient explorations, and forward-thinking improvisation.

Live Performances By

Beyond the stage, local food vendors, independent merchants and interactive stations, like a “take something, leave something” table will add flavor and color to the day, creating a marketplace of sound, taste, and discovery. (Scroll down to find out how you can be a vendor at the festival!)

Located near the dramatic Great Falls of the Passaic River, Prototype 237 is a truly one of a kind communal performance and art space. Housed in a beautifully converted historic warehouse that contains a professionally lit and sound-designed stage, a 5,000 sq. ft. black box theater and a 5,000 sq. ft white-walled event and gallery space, the good folks at Prototype have hosted over 350 performances, readings, and workshops over the last five years, making it a bastion of underground art and bold DIY New Jersey ingenuity. Their dedication to community, local art and an elevated musical experience is something that RCU shares in spirit, making Prototype’s space the perfect setting for this festival.

Be a Vendor/Sponsor!

If you’d like to support our event, you can apply to be a vendor and/or sponsor. For $100, you can get a space for a table for the entire afternoon and evening to sell your products and distribute promotional materials. If you do not wish to be a vendor, but would still like to be a sponsor, then for $100, you can have a quarter-page sized ad in the festival program. For $200, you get the table space, your name and/or logo on the poster and also a half-page ad in the festival program. For $300+, you’d get a full-page ad in the program, vendor table space, plus an ad on social media for your business before the event and multiple verbal shout outs from the MC during the time of the event. Just send an email to Record Crates United with “Vending/Sponsorship Opportunity” in the subject line, and please tell us the name of your business, which tiered support ($100, $200 or $300+) you’re interested in and what kind of products you’re looking to sell (if applicable).

Be a volunteer!

We are in need of a handful of volunteers who can help us on site the day of the festival in exchange for free entry. If interested, please send an email to Record Crates United with “Festival Volunteer” in the subject line.
