Primary Mystical Experience – Space Dust

Drift your way into the sonic nebula that is Primary Mystical Experience’s aptly titled Space Dust.

Like a minimalist hybrid of Ashra and Phaedra-era Tangerine Dream, this record transports you into a rich cosmic soundscape through the use of nothing but modular synthesizers. Each track is filled with waves of chromatic pulses that cruise through pools of soft repetitive beats and shimmery drones. With every passing song, the listener is pulled deeper and deeper into a cosmically relaxed state. It’s easy to feel rejuvenated and perhaps even a bit judicious by the record’s end.

To experience the record’s full power, it must be listened to all in one sitting. The songs individually are of course strong, but when heard together, you truly feel as though you’re on a celestial voyage. “Manifestation” lifts you from your terrestrial groundings, while tracks like “Electromagnetic” and “Allness” take you past the sun’s gravitational pull, and “Technicolor Wind,” the album’s closer, touches you down on a beach on some distant, unknown planet.

Rest assured, Kosmische Müzik is indeed alive and well as we enter into the 2020’s. You can preorder this new cassette from Aural Canyon Records ahead of its New Year’s Eve release date here.
