Mason Lindahl’s Kissing Rosy in The Rain is without a doubt one of the brightest and most unique examples of solo guitar music this year. It’s a record full of emotional subtlety and sharp minimalism with lyrical guitar lines that feel more closely related to somebody like Vaughan Williams than say, Jack Rose.

Now around six months since its release, Lindahl teamed up with filmmaker Michael Roberson to create a surreal music video for one of the album’s most enigmatic songs, “Outside Laughing.” We are excited to debut the video here today, so please check it out below:

Comprised of many strange shots sourced from vintage black and white educational films found on Archive.org, this collage-styled video highlights the more hallucinatory elements of the instrumental. At times, these images even reveal the more haunting qualities of the song, which might have gone totally unnoticed otherwise. A stunning video for a stunning track.

Mason Lindahl’s excellent LP, Kissing Rosy in the Rain is still available digitally and on vinyl from Tompkins Square Records. Click here to get your copy today.
