Video Premiere: “Solar Eclipse,” by Lou Turner

To announce the upcoming vinyl release of the brilliant Songs for John Venn on Centripetal Force Records, Lou Turner has released today a charming new music video for her track, “Solar Eclipse.” We’re excited and honored to be able to share it with you first. Check it out below:

Released originally last year through Spinster Sounds digitally and on cassette, Songs for John Venn is a raw yet fun folk-inspired record with a lo-fi homemade crispness and a slight experimental lean. This vibe, which is reminiscent of the likes of both Michael Hurley and Big Thief, is perfectly captured in this playful video.

The album is set to be ready for preorders likely in late July (as long as the vinyl pressing plant gods abide) with a very limited run of 100 pressed copies. The record will be housed in hand-stamped sleeves (see the featured image at the top of the page) and a bonus digital-only collection of previously unreleased demo tracks from the LP’s recording sessions. Follow Centripetal Force Recordings on Bandcamp, Twitter or Facebook for updates on the vinyl’s release date and more.
