Lord & Sharp – Kiwi

Lord & Sharp’s Kiwi is a breezy ocean of astral guitars and synthesizers that transports you to a peaceful headspace with each and every listen.

Available today through Aural Canyon Records, Kiwi finds the Texan experimental duo of Neil Lord (Future Museums) and Mike Sharp (of Joys Union Group) channelling their inner Elkhorn by improvising on electric and 12-string acoustic guitars over a hazy sea of cosmic electro sounds.

Across both sides of this cassette, Lord & Sharp’s expansive fingerpicking meanders and coasts at a stoic yet leisurely pace, while spiraling tendrils of reverberating synthesizers hum and roll in the background. Occasionally, like on “Crimson in Snow,” the duo is joined by Kristine Reaume on flute, who adds a particularly psychedelic feel to the already heady soundscape. Field recordings are also woven into the mix, like the thunderstorm samples used in the concluding title track, which really cements the record’s peaceful, dreamlike vibe.

Fans of Prana Crafter, Daniel Bachman and Flower Room Records will become obsessed with this tape. Click here to get your copy today.
