The Record Crates United Mixtape #26: An Interview with Christopher C. King

Tonight we have the great pleasure and honor of featuring famed musicologist, archivist and grammy-winning producer Christopher C. King.

King is a passionate and prolific 78 collector who has produced numerous collections of old time country, blues and international music, including Tompkins Square’s Imaginational Anthem Volume 6 and albums by a wide range of legendary artists like Charlie Monroe, Charley Patton and Alexis Zoumbas, just to name a few.

Tune in tonight at 8pm EST on Dune Buggy Radio to hear King and I discuss how his love of 78s began, the gems from his extensive discography and his excellent book, Lament From Epirus, which is available now wherever fine books are sold.

King also took over DJ duties for us during our chat, and picked several great tracks from his albums and personal collection. Don’t miss out on this one, folks!
