Body/Dilloway/Head – s/t

As Body/Dilloway/Head, Aaron Dilloway, Kim Gordon and Bill Nace create dense patchworks of distortion and manipulated tapes on their upcoming trio collaboration on Three Lobed Recordings.

Set to be released on November 19th as another addition to Three Lobed’s 20th anniversary series (with preorders starting today), Body/Dilloway/Head’s self-titled LP is made up of three sprawling soundscapes that are sculpted from garbled tape loops, slithering currents of gnarled guitars and spliced vocal samples. The entire album has the ambience of a dream, with half-remembered fragments of memories emerging through clouds of white noise. Check out the record’s second track, “Goin’ Down,” below, for a perfect example of the trio reaching this surrealistic meditative state:

Anything that would involve Gordon, Nace and Dilloway together would of course be an excitingly intense listen, yet this record bounds far ahead of expectations and sounds akin to the handmade sonic experimentations of artists like Yoko Ono, Faust and Steve Reich.

Preorder your copy from Three Lobed on digital or vinyl (with or without T-shirt) today.
